Description: Of all nuts, walnuts are the richest source of omega-3 fatty acids. They are also rich in potassium, iron, phosphorus and calcium; they are commonly recommended to people who have problems with their blood circulation and heart. They are a key source of zinc, which is an essential element for immunity. They are recommended to individuals with kidney problems due to their low sodium content. They are a “fuel” for the human brain. Some scientists point out the similarity between a walnut and the human brain, emphasising the significance for the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. Frequent consumption of walnuts improves concentration. They also have strong antioxidant effects.

Use: We can eat them “as they are” or as an ingredient in a variety of dishes. They are most commonly used for Christmas baking. We can also use them in finger foods, either in combination with cheeses or as decoration. They also taste great with apples, plums or in vegetable salads.
