Description: Edible mushroom. The “caps” of this mushroom resemble, in terms of colour and shape, larger oysters, hence the common name. The consumption of oyster mushroom, especially thanks to polysaccharidic D-glucan, has a positive effect on cholesterol levels; it increases resistance to infections and the production of erythrocytes. This mushroom has anti-inflammatory effects; it is effective in battling bacterial and viral illnesses and fungi; piles, eczema, allergies, burns and varicose veins.

Use: Oyster mushrooms are widely used; they ares good in cooked dishes, and can be dried or marinated in vinegar. They are an excellent ingredient in soups and sauces; and also taste good when pickled or served with vegetables. They also taste great smoked. Recommendation: Before use, soak in water for 1 hour.
