Description: Edible mushroom. Its common names in Czech include pečárka zahradní or žampion; in Slovakia it is called šampiňón. It is cultivated in a variety of forms (mostly the white cultivar) in large halls. It is one of the most commonly used edible mushrooms.

Use: Champignons can be used in cooking similar to other mushrooms, e.g. in combination with vegetable dishes, various kinds of meat, soups and sauces. They are great in omelettes, spreads, salads or pasta etc. It is recommended that they are soaked in water for 1 hour before use.
